1.6.-15.9. Y installation
Y is a wooden installation created by an international team of architects and fine carpenters. Y equals temporariness, temporality, and provocative use of wood in a museum environment, in Niemelä tenant farm. Entry with a museum ticket.

4.6. Pentecost
On Pentecost the Open-Air Museum organises guided tours that delve into the old dating and proposal customs. Birch bark ring workshop in Antti 11 am - 5 pm. Entry with a museum ticket.

11.-12.6. Helsinki Day
Felting workshop for children in Antti 11 am - 5 pm. Free entry both days.

19.-25.6. Midsummer Week
Special guided tours during the Midsummer week. On the Midsummer Eve June 23rd, the Seurasaari Foundation organises the Seurasaari Midsummer Bonfires.The Open-Air Museum participates in the event by opening Antti farmstead, Karuna church and the museum shop 6 pm - 9 pm. Folk musicians JP Piiroinen and Martin Åkesson play music in Seurasaari 1 pm - 4 pm.

12.7.-9.8. Summer evening concerts
The Helsinki Congregation organises evening concerts in the Karuna church at 6 pm. Free entry.
12.7. Aamun keinu. Laura Rahnasto, flute, Janne Malinen, guitar.
19.7. Leikkivät sävelet kahdelle viululle. Totti Hakkarainen, violin, Mikael Stoor, violin.
26.7.Tango for three. Totti Hakkarainen, violin; Sami Salonen, accordion, Antti Ahoniemi, bass.
2.8. Sabrina ja Saarten tyttäret Karunan kirkossa. A cappella -music.
9.8. Laulusuvanto. SonorEnsemble, conducting Hanna Remes.

22.-23.7. Handicraft Days and Market
Professional artisans and the museum staff present traditional handicraft techniques in the atmospheric museum houses. Skillfully made handicrafts are sold at the market place, Antti Events Ground. The presentations, guided tours and the workshop are included in the ticket price. Free entry to the market place.

22. and 29.7. Y-installation workshops
The social courtyard will be awakened to life when Arkki, School of Architecture for Children and Youth, organizes cottage construction workshops in the Niemelä tenant farm 11 am - 3 pm. The theme of the workshops is the hut (“kota” in Finnish), one of which is also found in Niemelä. The young and the old will have the opportunity to build their own “kota”, which has been used in Finland for thousands of years. Entry with a museum ticket.


Adventure in Miniature Finland until August 13th and additional dates on August 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th
A cultural orienteering for the whole family takes you around the museum area to accomplish small tasks. Entry with a ticket.

19.8. Folk Musicians in Seurasaari
Folk musicians JP Piiroinen and Martin Åkesson play music in Seurasaari 1pm - 4pm: in the Kurssi farmstead 1pm, Ivars farmstead 2.30pm.

19.-20.8., 24.8., 26.-27.8. Summer play of the theatre group Palkolliset
Theatre group Palkolliset perform the summer play on August 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th 1pm and 3pm in the area of Little Helsinki. In addition, during the Night of the Arts, on August 24th, evening shows 6pm and 7.30pm! Free entry.
