Bird pendant
This bronze pendant in the shape of a water bird is a metal detector find from 2014. The bird pendant was found in a field in Taljala, Hämeenlinna. The bird’s feet hang from the body with loops shaped like the figure eight, its tail consists of three parts and it has a hole in its back for attachment. The pendant was cast in one go, and the parts of the body were not attached to each other. The small bird is 2.3 cm in length and 11 g in weight. It can be dated to the Iron Age. Other bird and animal pendants of the same type have also been found.
