Täkänä double cloth from Alahärmä, 1810

According to Vuorela, this is Finland’s oldest double cloth marked with the year of completion (1810). The cloth was written about in Vaasa magazine on 8 April 1911, where its owner Kaisa Wakkuri mentions that she is ready to donate it to the museum “when the time is right.” The cloth was bought for the museum’s collections in the autumn of the same year.
