At Lake Pyhäjärvi 1873
The painting shows a woman from Pyhäjärvi in 1873, dressed for a party. The skirt is in dark pleated wool and the bodice is red. A large silver buckle closes the neckline of the blouse. On her head, the woman wears a narrow veil that covered the part of her hair that was parted. The Pyhäjärvi national costume of Vyborg province was designed and assembled in 1935 by Tyyni Vahter, a researcher at the National Museum of Finland. Oil painting, 21.7 x 33.6 cm.
