Carl Anton Carlborg

Carl Anton Carlborg (1770-?), by Erik Wilhelm le Moine, 1814

On the back of the miniatures placed in medallions in the early 19th century, there is often some hair of the person depicted in the miniature. Either locks of hair or more complicated decorations made of hair. On the back of the miniature of the Turku goldsmith Carl Anton Carlborg is a lock of hair on white silk and a decorative monogram CAC cut from a thin gold plate. The golden frame was also made by Carlborg.
