Lieutenant Udelius
Lieutenant Udelius, by Samuel Wilander, circa 1817
On the back of the miniature of Lieutenant Udelius is a picture of a group of trees with a memorial stone in front of them, painted on silk. On the left side of the stone is a cupid, and on top of the stone are two flaming hearts, above which two pigeons are flying. Writing on the stone: Oföränderlige och Oskiljagtige (unchanged and inseparable).
The miniature is painted by Samuel Wilander, and the gold frame made in Sweden has the 1817 year stamp. The painting is probably from around the same time. The background painting could also have been made by someone other than Wilander.
