A Christmas fair you don’t want to miss! The traditional St.Thomas Day Fair takes place within the walls of the medieval Olavinlinna Castle on December 14th, 11 AM to 6 PM. In celebration of the bustling atmosphere of the fair Olavinlinna is adorned with festive lights, which visitors may admire on the courtyards of the castle until 8 PM. Entrance is free of charge. We welcome you all to enjoy the joyful atmosphere of this engaging family event!
The vendors of the event offer a wide variety of quality products for purchase. The selection includes for example handcrafted goods, decorations and accessories, baked products and other seasonal treats both sweet and savoury, art and utensils, as well as decor items.
The stalls, brimming with unique options for gifts, are located in the Watergate Bastion, on the Great Courtyard, in the basement of the Thick Bastion, the Kings Hall, Tott’s Chamber, and the Congress Hall. The surest way to meet the Santa Claus and the Christmas elves is to head to the basement of the Thick Bastion!
The doors open for the visitors at 11 AM. The fair ends at 6 PM.
The visitors may stroll around the outdoors areas of the castle until 8 PM in order to admire the Savonlinna Illumination festive lights.

FOOD AND BEVERAGES
Museum restaurant Linnantupa is open for visitors during the whole event from 11 AM to 6 PM. Christmas lunch is served between 11 AM and 3 PM.

On the Great Courtyard of the castle visitors may find traditional black pot coffee, sausages, and pancakes available for purchase throughout the whole event.
Entry to the St. Thomas Christmas Fair is free of charge. There are no guided tours in the castle during the Christmas Fair.
Olavinlinna Castle is closed on December 16th - 26th and 31st 2019, and on January 1st 2020.
