Virtual Exhibitions of the National Museum of Finland
The National Museum is closed until spring 2027 due to renovation and expansion. In the meantime, you can explore three of the museum’s permanent exhibitions virtually.
In the Prehistory exhibition, you will step into the most fascinating finds and mysteries of Finland’s prehistory, from the time when the first inhabitants arrived in the area 10,000 years ago. Exhibition the Otherland takes you on a journey to a time before the state of Finland existed, while The Story of Finland guides you through the history of independent Finland in a way that touches the heart.
The virtual tour lets you admire the exhibition halls and objects that tell stories of our past and of life in the area we now know as Finland. Highlights from the museum’s collections are presented through short and informative videos.
The virtual tour can be experienced in a web browser, on a mobile device, or with VR glasses.
