The audio tours are available on-site in the museum in Finnish, Swedish, English and Russian.

Download the audio guide app onto your smartphone.

  • Go to Google Play or the App Store and download the free Guide ID MapMyVisit application.
  • Open the MapMyVisit app. Check that your phone’s Bluetooth connection and location data are on.
  • Start the audio guide by pointing your device towards an audio guide symbol from no more than 30 cm away in our exhibition rooms.

Audio tours

The Central Hall of the National Museum – learn about the architecture, frescoes and history of the Central Hall.

Prehistory – listen to the stories of five fascinating items, which include the skeleton of a seal, a money cache from Åland and an elk’s head from Huittinen.

Otherland – enjoy human-centric mini-essays by writer Juha Hurme. You will also hear music from the past.

The Story of Finland – listen to mini-essays about Finnish history by historian Teemu Keskisarja.

The Story of Finland – this tour specifically for children guides them through the history of independent Finland. The tour is particularly suitable for children aged 4–9.
