The standard of the Finnish pavilion at the 1889 Paris Exposition. The large standard (200 x 112 cm), made of red silk, is embroidered in gold yarn with a deep relief depicting the coat of arms of the Grand Duchy of Finland. The pole is decorated with a blue silk bow. The top of the pole is modelled after the grand ducal crown. The commissary for Finland's pavilion in the exhibition was Engineer Hjalmar Londén.
