Woman's cape

The women's cape belonged to Mary Gallén, the spouse of Artist Axel Gallén (later known as Akseli Gallen-Kallela). She bought the cape in Paris and wore it for the opening ceremony of the Finnish pavilion in the 1900 Paris Exposition on 14 April 1900. Axel Gallén painted the Kalevala-themed ceiling frescoes in the pavilion.
