Carl Fredrik Rotkirch

Carl Karl Fredrik Rotkirch (20 October 1775 Rural Municipality of Porvoo – 11 May 1832 Vaasa) was a baron and President of the Vaasa Court of Appeal. Carl Fredrik Rotkirch studied in Uppsala and served in the king’s office from 1793. He followed King Gustav IV Adolf on his Finnish journey in 1802. Rotkirch resigned in 1803 when he was awarded the title of Chief Secretary.

After his resignation, Rotkirch returned to Finland and cultivated his farm in Storby in Pyhtää. Karl Fredrik Rotkirch served as a representative of the Kymmenegård County nobility in the Finnish deputation in 1808–1809 and participated in the Diet of Porvoo in 1809. In the summer of 1809, he was awarded the 2nd class cross of the Order of Saint Anna.[4] Rotkirch was a member of the Administrative Council and the head of the Ecclesiastical Department from 1809 to 1812. Rotkirch resigned from this position in 1812 and moved to the rural municipality of Porvoo to farm his family estate, the Stensböle Manor. In 1817, Rotkirch was appointed President of the Vaasa Court of Appeal. In 1830, he was awarded the title of baron.
