‘I am certain to come back here one day!’ said Russia’s future Czar, Alexander III, in the summer of 1880 while visiting the beautiful Langinkoski and its surroundings. And sure enough, a fishing lodge was built for the imperial family, so that they could take time off from the rigours of court life in Saint Petersburg and enjoy fishing, chopping firewood, cooking and spending time in each other’s company. The fishing lodge is open to the public 2 May – 30 September.
Come and enjoy the imperial atmosphere, and the peace and tranquillity of the National Urban Park!
