CLOSED: Royals of the Forests
New exhibition! On June 16, a new changing exhibition Royals of the Forests will open in the castle.
The leading roles in this exhibition at Häme Castle are played by the handsome woodlands of the North and the royals of our forests: the bear, the wolf, the elk and the lynx. For centuries, these four have featured in stories, beliefs, mythology and heraldry. Over time, each of them has also been assigned a specific set of characteristics.
In addition to the gems from the National Museum’s collections, this powerful exhibition will feature sculptures by Jenni Tieaho and nature photographs by Ossi Saarinen.Furthermore, it will showcase borrowed pieces from the Hunting Museum of Finland, the Finnish Museum of Natural History Luomus and the Finnish Literature Society SKS. The exhibition is intended for people of all ages, for anyone who has ever read stories, and for those who are interested in beliefs and mythologies.
The exhibition will be open from 16 June 2023 to 28 January 2024 at Häme Castle.
