Helsinki Day at the National Museum of Finland

Entry to the National Museum of Finland will be free on Helsinki Day! The day will also have a special programme: guided tours to the tower and the exhibition Traces.

Tower tours (fully booked)

What does Helsinki look like from the National Museum’s tower? The National Museum will take you on a tour to its tower! Tours start on the hour at noon, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm, 5 pm, 6 pm and 7 pm. The maximum tour group size is 10 people.

Because the stairs to the tower are steep, children must always be accompanied by an adult. Unfortunately, the tower is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.

Guided tours for visitors: Traces

Curator Pilvi Vainonen introduces you to the touching Traces exhibition. The tour is in Finnish but open to all, and it begins at 6 pm in the exhibition hall.

The Traces exhibition is located in the pop up space on the 1st floor and explores the relationship between people and animals through museum collections. The exhibition features both natural science specimens and objects made of animal materials from all continents – from Siberia to Africa and from the Pacific to Europe.
