The Museum

Seurasaari Open-Air Museum, which opened in 1909, is a place for visitors of all ages. When you arrive on the island, you are immediately transported to a rural landscape from the olden days, far away from the hustle and bustle of urban life.

88 separate buildings give an overall view of the life in Finnish countryside from the 18th to the 20th centuries.

Welcome to Seurasaari

Seurasaari Open-Air Museum, located on Seurasaari island in Helsinki, is a public park. Visitors can enjoy nature and beaches, especially in summer. The museum features historical buildings from across Finland, offering a glimpse into past Finnish life. Cafés and a restaurant are open daily in summer and on weekends in winter.

Guided tours

The guided tours explore life in the 19th century Finnish countryside and traditional Finnish architecture. We organize private booked tours between May 15th and September 15th. Open guided tours included in the entrance ticket daily from June 15th to August 31st and on weekends until September 15th.

Café and restaurant

Antin Kaffeliiteri café, housed in the shed of the Antin talo building from the Western Finnish region of Satakunta, offers coffee, refreshments and snacks during the museum’s opening hours.

Museum shop

The new shop is located in the recently renovated parsonage of Iisalmi, and its carefully selected, unique goods reflect the museum’s atmosphere. The selection includes old-fashioned sweets and literature on birchbark crafts, the history of gardens and traditional handicrafts.
